Buy high speed steel

High speed steel is a high-alloy steel that is primarily used to produce cutting tools such as milling cutters, turning tools, drills or circular saw blades. Due to its specific alloy composition, high-speed steel is particularly suitable for applications with high cutting speeds and wear resistance. It is used in applications with working temperatures of up to 600° C. Would you like to buy high-speed steel for your individual purposes and requirements? Then WIEHLSTAHL is the right address for you!

Buying high-speed steel: as round material and in other cross-sections

You usually buy high speed steel as round material. However, at WIEHLSTAHL you can also obtain special dimensions in the form of flat or square dimensions. Ask us about our range and describe your individual requirements - we will be happy to help you make the ideal selection for you.

Different materials to buy in the area of high speed steel

Here we would like to give you an overview of the most common materials that can be purchased as high speed steel.

• 1.3202:
High-performance high speed steel with high hot hardness and high wear resistance. Suitable for finishing work on hard materials as well as non-metallic materials (hard rubber, synthetic resins, etc.).

• 1.3207:
High-performance high speed steel with even higher hot hardness and higher wear resistance than 1.3202. For use in finishing and roughing work on peeling operations and automatic machines as well as machining austenitic steels or materials of high strength under complicated cutting conditions.

• 1.3243:
High-performance high speed steel with balanced toughness, cutting, tempering resistance and hot hardness properties. Used in hobs, broaches, roughing tools and twist and tap drills.

• 1.3247:
High-performance high speed steel with very high hot strength and hardness, at the same time good grindability and toughness. Suitable for machining difficult-to-machine materials such as high-temperature steels or alloys, for example as a shank roughing cutter.

• 1.3255:
High-performance high speed steel based on tungsten. Thanks to the high carbon content, this steel has a high hot hardness and tempering resistance. Used where high temperature loads occur on the cutting edges and where hard materials are machined.

• 1.3343:
Versatile standard high speed steel with balanced toughness, tempering resistance, cutting and hot hardness properties. Suitable for all cutting tools for finishing and roughing as well as for cutting and cold forming or fine blanking tools

• 1.3344:
Standard high speed steel with special cutting ability and very good wear resistance. Primarily used for tools with pronounced wear stress in all materials of medium strength.

• 1.3355:
High-performance high speed steel with a large alloy content of tungsten, very good wear resistance. Often used for milling and drilling tools due to its high toughness.
